about

Ghost lanterns were an early form of projector used for the purpose of stage illusions and huckstery to make it appear that an object or person was translucent or incorporeal. The music here is such a performance of ambient Grand Guignol. "Vespertine" here is something of a layered reference: To Alvin Lucier's echolocation piece "Vespers", to the waking habits of bats, to the fading of day into twilight. It is not an allusion to Björk, although that is a fabulous album.

There are some very odd vocal cuts on this track, as well as the first instance of a particular tone row motif that you will no doubt hear later should you continue to follow my work, albeit here in 13-EDO because, well, why not?

This is maybe the most primped of the tracks presented here, although only very subtly.
