about

A serene conclusion to this return to the distant past, in the form of a now nearly five-year-old assemblage of brief older pieces, mostly revolving around strummed dulcimer and the clanking of spoons in tumblers. The answering machine loop in the last part of the track also appears in much mangled form within the many layers of the second breakdown in the last section of "The Eye of the Storm". Call it a watermark of my earliest work, if you will, along with the aforementioned dulcimer playing and heavy filter can effects, all of which feature here.

The lyrics, such as they are, consist of half-improvised musings on the sensation of flight (sung over a melody resembling that of Swans' "A Hanging", in a very Gira-like fashion) and a brief monologue describing my parents' office in the terms which one might use to describe an alien rainforest. This is probably where I came up with the title here, although for the longest time I thought it was just evocative nonsense.
