Too much thinking about stalkers and toadies produced this. Sounds of paper tearing, pencils being sharpened, other stranger things. The horrible noise throughout the coda which is not my voice is what sound a lap dulcimer makes when played with a knife sharpener.

The word "eidolon," while the origin of the more common "idol," may also mean "phantasm." To whom the title refers is thus a matter of interpretation.
